At Panyard, we have assembled a team of the most dedicated pan men and women in the world.
Our crew has years of playing experience, and has made the pursuit of pan
a priority in their lives. Each member of the crew brings unique talents to Panyard.
John Giarrizzo - Tuner/Fab Shop
John started his musical career at the age of 11 as an aspiring drummer. He attended
Drum Workshops and studied privately. He was invited to join his school concert band
as a percussionist, and then he also served as drummer in their Jazz Lab Band. At the
age of 14, his musical interests changed to Guitar when he served as roadie for several
bands. He began performing with several local bands as well as performing occasional
session work for a few studio projects.
In 1996, John was accepted into the University of Akron's Fine and Applied Arts,
where he studied Classical Guitar. He progressed as a music major at the university,
and in turn accepted a position as Guitar instructor for the University Musical Arts
Program. He taught there for 5 years.
John joined the Panyard team in February 2007.
Courtney Padrutt - Tuner
Courtney is quickly becoming a top-notch tuner. Under the guidance of Master Tuner
Ronnie Drouin, she has made rapid progress since joining the Panyard crew in March 2007.
Courtney has been a native of Northeast Ohio her entire Life. She graduated from Green
HS in 1999, and continued her studies at both Kent State University and The Kent Stark
Campus, where she majored in Visual Communications Design. She was a recipient of
“The Silver Key Award” from Kent State University in 1998 for artwork she created.
Outside of the Tuning Room, Courtney is a spiritual woman who has a passion for learning,
particularly in the fields of Science and the Arts. She is an avid music fan, painter, and
lover of nature.
Her smile is infectious, and she brings joy to her work and to her co-workers.

Ronnie Drouin - builder/tuner
Preparation (smoothing, tightening and balancing) is one of the most critical procedures in making a
fine quality steel drum. With our pneumatic hammering system and revolutionary shaping concepts,
Ronnie creates stunning works of art. He has a tremendous eye for detail and is one of the finest Pan craftsmen
in the world.
Ronnie is an enthusiastic golfer with a hole-in-one to his name. He is also something of a video-game junkie.
Ron Kerns - Owner
Ron Kerns is the founder of Panyard, Inc. He has been the driving force behind the success of the
company since 1991. His commitment and vision to provide quality steelpan products and service to the
steelpan industry have been the foundation upon which Panyard's success has been built.
Ron is a keen golfer, and has recently become an avid gardner.
